Deviant art has pretty much degraded into something terrible

at first it was exciting. A new horizon with new people in similar interest.  Everybody was eager to show off their art.  Everybody was an artist.  wanting to express themselves and their own ideas.  Now, i'm not really sure what it is.  but it's definitely not what it was.

I'm not saying i'm leaving DA but i'm just clarifying that DA sucks.

i'm pretty sure if we make it known that we as a whole are unsatisfied with the content we are receiving then DA might do something.  

Then again the admins here are notorious for not doing anything about anything for any reason.

so i doubt it.

i still draw.  i just don't post it really anymore.  I never really planned on even finding work in the art industry.  it was just fun to draw.  it still is fun to draw.  but i think it's gotten too serious.

the pageviews, the watches.  the comments.  it's all become some sort of internet currency around here. to the point where we barely even care about the art.  we want the attention.  

Don't get me wrong. attention was never a bad thing.  it's what keeps us striving as human beings to do better.  Recognition for our talents and hard work.  It's just the fact that the attention seeking has gone so far as to take away from the fun that deviant art held back when i first joined. (only two years ago, but hey, things can change in a short time)

Really i just wanted to get this out since you guys on deviantart are still really awesome and i'm pretty sure (scratch that 100% sure) that none of you are the judgemental type.  but hey.

as long as you guys are still drawing.  and it's just a website. so

no big deal i guess?
